Austine at NovelKnight has announced a reading challenge for 2017 and I am going to participate. It is to help you to reduce the TBR pile that have been piling up over the years. I thought the reading challenge is a great way for me to reduce my TBR that I have been wanting to read but kept putting them off for new releases and my reading slumps that I kept on getting. I also want to do reviews on the books that I have. I hope I can get the list down to zero or even to the manageable size by the end of 2017. That would be great. This list will be ever changing because I will buy books that were released before 2017 over the year, I can’t help it. I love books.
It will run from January 1st to December 31st. The only rule is to read books that were released prior to 2017. I will use the social media to post updates throughout the year with #beatthebacklist.
My TBR list will be in chronological order by the author’s last name, then the publication date, and finally by series (if it calls for it). It will help me to keep track this way. I might add or remove depending on my reading slumps I might get and if I bought books that were released before 2017 throughout the year. The links will be going to Goodreads.
I am also participating in a Hogwarts mini challenge. I am excited. It is a fun way to encourage you to read and win like you would for your house at Hogwarts. I am a Hufflepuff and I sure do hope I would see yellow and black win the house cup!

Oh, I know! Good thing it is only a year challenge! 🙂 I am hopeful that I will read most of these books. Wish me luck!

It is a good thing that it’s a year long challenge, but with new books always coming out it will be difficult! You can do it though, just find a balance between what you already have and newer releases.

Exactly. I think I won’t be able to put them down to zero, but I am hopeful that I will be able to get the list down to 5-10 books by the end of the year. There are quite few books that I really want to read next year. like you said, it’s all about finding balance.

A big YES to I’ll Meet You There, All The Light We Cannot See, November 9, It Ends With Us, The Lunar Chronicles, Carry On, HP and anything V.E. Schwab! Those books are without doubt among my all time favorites. A lot of the other titles are high on my TBR pile as well; I hope you will enjoy all of these! 🙂

I am excited to start reading them next year because I have heard nothing but awesome things about these books! I am planning on making February The Lunar Chronicles month! What do you think of that?
