Books I Wish I Read in 2019

Misc

I saw this topic going around on BookTube and thought it’d make a great post for me. There are so many books that I wanted to read but for some reason or another, I never got around to it. Here are the ten books that I wish I read in 2019.

The Priory of the Orange Tree | The Starless Sea | We Hunt the Flame | Love from A to Z | Aurora Rising

The Priory of the Orange Tree // Samantha Shannon
Man, this book is a B.E.A.S.T. 804 pages. I read big books this year but this takes the cake. Every time I tried to pick it up, I get nervous. Why? I don’t know. I should not let it affect me. I hope to start and finish it in 2020. If anyone has suggestions on how I should take notes on this book, please do let me know. Since it is a big book – I’m bound to forget what was happening a chapter or two ago. That’d be great.

The Starless Sea // Erin Morgenstern
This just came out. I got the UK edition, thanks to my boyfriend for my birthday. I just simply didn’t have the time to read this but I wish I did.

We Hunt the Flame // Hafsah Faizal
This came out earlier this year and I have no excuse of why I didn’t read this. I even went out and brought this the week it came out. I need to fix that. I just have a feeling this will be a 5 stars read for me.

Love from A to Z // S.K. Ali
Same as above. Shame. Nicole. Shame. I have heard the writing is awesome with heart wrecking and sweet moments. I need to fix that in 2020.

Aurora Rising // Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
I read Illuminae, their first collab together and I adored it. I wanted to read how they’d do with actual words, like a novel. Not a mixed media novel. My goal is to read it before the sequel releases.

Red Sister | Ninth House | The Hate U Give | The Bear and the Nightingale | Birthday

Red Sister // Mark Lawrence
I wanted to read this book so bad to the point where I grabbed it when it was on sale on Amazon Kindle. Just didn’t do it. I didn’t know about this book until this year thanks to a few BookTubers. I’m catching up on things in 2020.

Ninth House // Leigh Bardugo
I got this the very first week it released and even started reading it but yeah. Need to do more.

The Hate U Give // Angie Thomas
This book was on my multi TBR and I just never pick it up! WHY? sighs. I have no words left.

The Bear and the Nightingale // Katherine Arden
The same thing applies to Red Sister. Another addition to my never-ending TBR for 2020.

Birthday // Meredith Russo
This book came out, I think during the summer. I have heard this book is so good. I need to read this.

2020 is the year. I hope.
