Book News
Anna-Marie McLemore and Taylor Kay Mejia!
They are teaming up to write a new novel, Meteor; “which two friends, one made of stardust and one fighting to save her family’s diner, take on their small town’s 50th annual pageant and talent competition in the hopes that they can change their town’s destiny, and their own.” It is expected to be published in 2020. Tomi Adeyemi’s Children of Blood and Bone Sequel Title!
On Twitter, Tomi has announced the title to the next book in the Legacy of Orïsha series. It is going to be called Children of Virtue and Vengeance. It is set to be published on March 5, 2019. (Twitter). (Preorder Links).
Leigh Bardugo’s News and Hints!
We found out at Y’allWest fest that Nina from Six of Crows is getting a POV in King of Scars! (Instagram). We also got some hints from her in Twitter about Grishaverse. Kaz and Inej from Six of Crows will be mentioned but will not appear in King of Scars. Genya will return in King of Scars. Zoya Nazyalensky is one of major POV characters in King of Scars. She gave a hint that there is a long-term plan that does involve the third book in Six of Crows world, but it will be many years down the road.
Riverdale News!
There is cover reveals in the link that I provided. “Scholastic has acquired world and all language rights to publish original fiction and companion books based on the CW series Riverdale.” “…this fall with Aug. 28 release of the Riverdale Student Handbook, an in-world guide which promises to deliver “everything you really need to know about surviving Riverdale High!” “Scholastic will release an original work of Riverdale young adult fiction. Titled Riverdale: The Day Before – The Prequel Novel, the book “tells the story of life in Riverdale before audiences joined the story at the start of season 1 of the show.” It’s written by author Micol Ostow and will be told from multiple points of view, with the whole ensemble of main characters telling their own stories. The book also contains bonus content including Hiram Lodge’s arrest report, pages from Jughead’s novel, passed notes between Betty and Veronica, and lyrics from Josie’s songbook.”(Source).
Sarah J. Maas’ New Book Announced!
It will be titled Crescent City and this is her first Adult fantasy novel. It is set to be published in late 2019. “Set in a universe where humans struggle with survival and hierarchies of the magical creatures they live among, Crescent City will follow half-human, half-Sidhe Bryce Quinlan as she seeks to avenge the death of her best friend, who was brutally murdered.” (Source).
George R.R. Martin’s The Ice Dragon!
George R.R. Martin’s The Ice Dragon to become an animated film. George wrote few books from his release of The Game of Thrones series. The Ice Dragon is a children book. The film will be via Warner Animation Group. There is no release date as of yet. (Source).
Christina Lauren’s Roomies to be adapted!
“Andy Fickman will direct and produce the music-driven romantic comedy Roomies with Jenna Dewan via her company, Everheart Productions. Christina Lauren, the combined pen name of Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings, will adapt their own novel.” (Source).
Shea Ernshaw’s New Book announced!
The author of The Wicked Deep is writing her new book that is set to be released in Fall 2019. It is going to be called Winterwood, about “an eerie forest deep in the snowy mountains, haunted by mystery and magic, where a boy thought dead suddenly returns.” (Twitter).
S.K. Ali’s New Book Announced!
The Author of Saints and Misfits is set to write two new novels. “Marvels and Oddities follow two Muslim teens during a trip to Doha, who learn to speak truth to power and open themselves up to the complexities of first love. Publication is set for summer 2019.” (Source).
Janella Angeles’ New Debut Novel!
Where Dreams Descends is set to be published via Wednesday Books by 2020. It is a Fantasy duology. It is being pitched as The Phantom of the Opera meets Moulin Rouge/Night Circus! (Twitter).
The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee News!
Greg Berlanti, Berlanti Productions has optioned the novel. “Berlanti is searching for a showrunner to oversee the project before shopping it around to networks.” (Source).

Nicola Yoon’s The Sun Is Also A Star News!
We all know that The Sun Is Also A Star will be adapted into a movie. We already have a director, Ry Russo-Young, and Natasha (Yara Shahidi). Charles Melton (Reggie Mantle, Riverdale) is joining the cast as Daniel, one of the Main Characters in the book. The movie is set to be released on May 17, 2019. (Nicola’s Instagram). (Source).
