Top 10 Tuesday: Books On My Fall TBR List

For anyone unfamiliar with Top 10 Tuesday, it’s a weekly meme that was created by Brokeandbookish. To see more posts on this very topic, please go here.

September 27: Books On My Fall TBR List

I will be doing this a bit differently. Since I already did my Top 5 Wednesday on this very topic so I will be doing my Top 10 TBR for the rest of the year. There will be same four (one I already read) books plus six more. These books that I have listed that I own, I want to read what I have before buying more books and there are two books in here that I have preordered.

1. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

the lunar chronicles

I am planning on reading one book per month so for October – December, it will be Cinder, Scarlett, and Cress. Winter will be read in January, Fairest will be in February and maybe, Stars Above in March.

2. The Nightingale by Kirstin Hannah

I want to read at least one Historical Fiction and I have heard nothing but great things about this book. I have read some of her books before, my favorite book by her would be Home Front. I am planning on reading this in November.

3. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

This book was supposed to be standalone but people want more, so they delivered. A Torch Against the Night was released recently. People loves the book enough to warranted at least two more books and a movie. I have to read this.

4. Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin

This is technically not a Historical Fiction but Alternate History. This book brings a question that I am sure we all ask at some point, “What if Hitler won the war?” I heard this book is so heart wrenching and people that read Blood for Blood said the same. So I need to get a box of tissues, then.

5. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

I am sure by now, you know I am excited about this book and cannot wait to read it. I have to know what is going to happened! It is being released today and I have to wait for Target to ship my order. They have one of the Special Edition, on the back of the jacket, there are drawings of the crew!

6. Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

Like The Lunar Chronicles, I will read one book per month. I have already read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. For October – December, it will be Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (I did this for Goblet of Fire on purpose, because in the movie – there is a Christmas ball so it fits). The rest will be in the new year and be wrapping up in April.

7. Gemina by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Illuminae is one of my favorite books of the year and I am sure Gemina will be too. It is so different and fun to read. It is not at all long and dense. It has illustrations from Marie Lu, the author of Legend series and The Young Elites series. Come on, man!

8. Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Córdova

This book brought to my attention when I first wrote my post, Most Anticipated Fall 2016 Book Releases, but did not really paid attention deeper till Riley from Riley Marie on YouTube talked about it on Twitter. It got me be more interested so I bought the book. It is only the matter of figuring out which month I want to read this book.

With the next two books, I am not sure if I am able to read them due to time. I am planning on reading four books per month for the rest of the year, but if by luck, I am able to read these two books before the year’s over. That would be awesome. We shall see.

9. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

This book is different from the typical princess trying to be a queen. This is triples, sisters, family. They are trying to kill each other to be the Queen. That sounds really dark and a fun start to a possible trilogy?

10. The Wrath & The Dawn by Renée Ahdieh

Oh, I am planning on reading this. It is a retelling of A Thousand and One Nights. I love retellings. Look at the cover, so beautiful. Like I already said, it is the matter of finding time to read this book.

I love your list! And oh my god Harry ❤ All the feels! I'm currently reading The Nightingale 🙂 Well, actually I haven't gotten anywhere in the past week, but that's not saying I don't like it – on the contrary! I love it so far, but I really don't have the time to dive into it as I would like to right now, so I prefer not to continue at all for now, because it's just too good for hasty reading with 100 other things on my mind 😦
