December 25: Books I Hope I Find Under My Christmas Tree This Morning (If you don’t celebrate Christmas, spin this to be a book wish list.)
I have a hard time narrowing my wish list to ten books for today’s post. There are so many books that I wanted to get. Knowing me, I will ask for books and gift cards to Barnes & Noble and Amazon so I can get more books.
Next Year in Havana // Chanel Cleeton
I was exactly halfway through this book when I had to return it back to the library. So, I am hoping that I get my own copy so I can go back and annotate the book and finish it.
Archenemies // Marissa Meyer
I want to have this ready when I am finished with Regendages. Superheroes? Villians? Yes, please.
Darius The Great is Not Okay // Adib Khorram
This is one of the books that I haven’t heard of a single negative review. I am curious about why.
Code Name Verity // Elizabeth Wien
I wanted to have at least a historical fiction on the list since it’s one of my favorite genres. I have too many fantasy books. This book has an amazing friendship between two women and it’s a feminist novel to boost!
Forest of a Thousand Lanterns // Julie C. Dao
A retelling of Evil Queen in Snow White? Sign. Me Up.
Strange the Dreamer // Laini Taylor
I never read Laini Taylor and I would like to. I thought maybe this one would be a great place to start. The book apparently has beautiful writing and great worldbuilding.
What if It’s Us // Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera
I loved Becky’s novels and need to read Adam’s books. I do know Adam’s reputation of his endings so I want to read this novel to see where it’d lead.
Wildcard // Marie Lu
I love Marie’s first trilogy, Legend. I want to see where Warcross and Wildcard go.
Blanca y Roja // Anna-Marie McLemore
Loved Wild Beauty. I want to read more of her writing. I hope I will get this one under the Christmas tree.
Trail of Lightning // Rebecca Roanhorse
I want this book because I love the synopsis. And I want to read it.
There aren’t many books that do boys and friendship quite as well as Darius the Great. It also touches on mental illness and existing between two worlds. It’s masterfully done, and one of my favorites from this year. I hope you enjoy it. Blanca & Roja is also fabulous. I haven’t read Wild Beauty yet, but When the Moon Was Ours is currently my absolute favorite, so I’m going to get to it eventually. Here’s hoping you have a good day. Happy reading!

I heard wonderful things about Darius the Great and cannot wait to have it in my hand and read them. I loved Wild Beauty and plans on rereading it before jumping into other books. I need to get a copy of The Weight of Feathers as well. I hope you have a wonderful day!

I also really want Darius the Great is Not Okay! I’ve also heard wonderful things about Next Year in Havana, so I think that’s one I want to read in 2019 for sure. It must’ve been so annoying to have to return it in the middle of reading 😦
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

I never really get any bookish things! I think my family is too afraid I’ll already have the book, or won’t like it or something 🙂 So exciting that you got Next Year in Havana!
