September 18: Books On My Fall 2018 TBR
Even though I am not reading as much as I want to but I love to make TBRs. It helps me to see what books that I am in the mood for during that season. I love to read atmospheric, detailed stories during the fall. Now, I am not big on thriller or horror so I’m seeking things that would feel atmospheric and would pull me in the story.
Empress of All Seasons (Nov. 6th) // Emiko Jean
I have read the synopsis and yes. I want to read it, like now and not wait till NOVEMBER!
This Adventure Ends // Emma Mills
I read Foolish Hearts earlier this year and loved it! I wanted to read the two other books, and I’m going backward, ha. I love her writing and how she makes the characters jump off the pages.
What If It’s Us (Oct. 9th) // Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera
Of course, this book is on my TBR. I have to know how two different authors work this out, especially the ending!
The Poppy War // R.F. Kuang
I have started reading this but didn’t finish. The Story of my life but I’m determined to finish this because from what I’ve read, I love. This definitely counts when I said atmospheric.
The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy (Oct. 2nd) // Mackenzi Lee
I haven’t read the first book in this series but I have preordered it and I’m excited to read them back to back. A lot of people loved Felicity when they read the first book so I am curious!
Running with Lions // Julian Winters
I don’t remember how I found out about this book, maybe on Twitter. I remember though, is that people have been raving about it and I got it on my kindle when it was on sale not long after. I am very curious and want to read more books that have sports since I am a HUGE football (American) fan.
Mirage // Somaiya Daud
I recently got this book and I’m excited! The cover! So beautiful! Can’t wait to jump into the world.
When the Moon Was Ours // Anna-Marie McLemore
I recently brought this from Book Outlet and I’m excited to jump into this book next month! I have heard it’s so good. I’m planning on reading Blanca y Roja after I read this book because why not?
Jade City // Fonda Lee
I found out about this book via Emily from Possibly Literate. The way she described the book made me go out the very next day and buy the book. Now, it has been sitting on my dresser for months so it’s time for me to read them.
Summer of Salt // Katrina Leno
I don’t know if this is an atmospheric, detailed story but I have heard nothing but great things about this novel. Please let me know if it isn’t and I can wait till summer to read it.
Buried Beneath the Baobab Tree // Adaobi Tricia Kwaubani
I have to read this. I know this is going to be a hard read but honestly, I don’t know anything about what has happened down in Nigeria. I want to change that.
Shadow of the Fox (Oct. 2nd) // Julie Kagawa
I read the synopsis and fell in love. I saw the cover and fell in love even more. I cannot wait for October to arrive so I can finally read this.
Currently readin and ARC of What if its us and its amazing and I really want to read The Lady’s Guide to Vice and Virtue

I really want to read Buried Beneath the Baobab Tree as well! I’m definitely ordering myself a copy when I get home from my trip. Also, yes to Empress of All Seasons and the Poppy War! I’m aiming to read those in the coming months as well 🙂
I loved Running With Lions, so I hope you’ll enjoy it too.

I just got an eARC of Empress of All Seasons yesterday and I AM SO READY TO DIVE IN. Although I do have other ARC’s to get to first but.. hey.. we all know how this game goes, hahaha.
Hoping to get my hands on What If It’s Us asap. Didn’t preorder it because.. it’s out of my “book buying deal” [which equals me only pre-ordering sequels] but the boyfriend still owes me some books soooo.. you know.. I’ll definitely use THAT to my advantage. 😛
Happy reading! 😀

I can’t wait to hear what you think of Empress of All Seasons. I’m excited about that book! Yeah, there are always books calling our names more than others. I do the same thing with my boyfriend. I would give him puppy look and he’d cave in, a bit. 😉

Same! I didn’t think I’d get approved so imagine my face when I did, haha.
Haha – the benefit of boyfriends [sometimes]. Although I do have to spend some time convincing him to go into a bookstore with me first and that.. is harder than using the puppy eyes? 😂

I don’t understand why it’s hard to go into the bookstore? I honestly don’t. lol

Hahaha, we don’t. They do since.. they probably see their money disappear the moment they enter. Hah.
