List of Science Fiction/Fantasy Adaptations!
Tor.com has provided a long list of Science Fiction/Fantasy books that are being adapted into movies from now to 2019, and maybe 2020? Here’s the link. (Source).
Holly Black’s New Novella!
On NOVL’s twitter, they announced Holly Black’s new Novella, The Lost Sisters. It is set to be released on October 2nd. It is set during The Cruel Prince and before The Wicked King. If you click on the link, you can vote one of the two covers for the novella. I am not sure if it’s still going on but it doesn’t hurt to check. (Source).
The Title to the Sequel of The Poppy War announced!
R.F. Kuang has announced on her Twitter the title to the sequel of The Poppy War. It is going to be called The Dragon Republic! We will have to wait on the cover for it. I cannot wait! (Source).
A Solarpunk Novellas Series from Becky Chambers!
The author of The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet is working on releasing a solarpunk novellas series. The first one will be released in 2020 and the next one for the following year. We do not know the titles at this point. (Source).
New Book from N. K. Jemisin!
N.K. Jemisin’s next book, How Long ’til Black Future Month?: Stories is a collection of short stores that “examines modern society.” I am not sure where I first found out about this but yeah, if you click on Amazon, you can read the synopsis and then pre-order it! (Amazon).
Black Panther‘s Sister Shuri Is Getting Her Own Comic Book Series!
Exciting News! Shuri is getting her own standalone comic book series! It is set to be released sometime in October. It is being written/drawn by Eisner-nominated artist Leonardo Romero and Afrofuturist author Nnedi Okorafor. (Source).
Sen. Kamala Harris Is Writing A Memoir!
The Senator is publishing her memoir, The Truths We Hold: An American Journey, with Penguin Press in and it is expected to be released in January 2019. “According to Penguin, the book will be a mixture of memoir and current-events primer, and it will include stories both from Harris’s upbringing in Oakland, and from her political life, and it will touch on her own guiding principles.” (Source). Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Book Of Twitter Pep Talks!
Lin-Manuel Miranda is releasing a book based on his tweets, “GMorning, GNight” tweets and he asked the fans if they would like for him to make that into a book. It is going to be a real deal because Random House will be releasing GMorning, GNight! Little Pep Talks For Me & You on Oct. 23 — with illustrations by Manuel’s fellow Twitter luminary and Everyone’s a Aliebn When Ur a Aliebn Too author Jonny Sun. (Source).

TOR Hits Libraries with Lending Delay!
I first found out about this news via Book Riot. Apparently, starting July 2018, TOR “has decided that as of July 2018, libraries don’t get to start lending out their new ebook releases when they come out. There’s now a four-month waiting period.” In the link, there’s more information. (Source).

Jane Austen’s Unfinished Novel, Sandition Is Being Adapted!
Andrew Davies, who is the mastermind behind the Pride and Prejudice adaptation, that featured Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy is planning on to adapted Jane Austen’s unfinished novel, Sandition. She was working on this novel at the time of her death. ITV’s Head of Drama Polly Hill announced plans to bring Sanditon to life for television audiences in the U.K. and the U.S. It will be a collaboration with Red Planet Picture and Masterpiece on PBS, the eight-part drama will be based on the 11-chapter fragments of the novel. There is no word on the cast and/or the date, but filming for Sanditon is expected to begin as early as spring 2019. (Source).
