Welcome back to Bookish News! Here’s the news that I have gathered over the month of November. Bare with me when I am trying to figure out the best way for me to share the news with you without overwhelming you with a lot of information. If you have an idea, please let me know.

Book News
Jessica Cluess’ 3rd Book Now Have a Title!
Jessica Cluess’ 3rd and final book of the Kingdom on Fire trilogy, A Sorrow Fierce and Falling. Other books in the trilogy are A Shadow Bright and Burning and A Poison Dark and Drowning. (Goodreads). (Source).
Zoraida Córdova’s 2nd book in the Brooklyn Brujas trilogy!
In the newsletter by Zoraida, she announced that the 2nd book in the Brooklyn Brujas trilogy has a title change. It used to be Circle Unbroken but now it is going to be called Bruja Born. It will be released on June 5th.
Angie Thomas’ 2nd book Title!
While Angie was at YALLFest this past weekend (Nov. 10th – 11th), she announced her title to her 2nd book. It is called On The Come Up. It will be released on May 1st. She wrote the bestseller debut novel; The Hate U Give. The movie of the debut novel has been finished filming. Once I find out the release date, you will learn here on my bookish news! Cassandra Clare’s New Series!
Cassandra Clare has announced that she is going to release a brand new series that are not part of the Shadowhunter world. It is going to be Adult Fantasy. The first book in the series is going to be called Sword Catcher. It will feature the “criminals, princes, magicians, and warriors.” Cassandra herself has told the readers that the new series will not affect the publication of her next book, Queen of Air and Darkness and other books in the Shadowhunter world, which is set to be released in December of 2018. The publication of Sword Catcher is at some point in 2021 with the sequel coming out in 2023. (Source).

Chris Colfer’s New Series!
Chris Colfer has signed a new deal withLittle, Brown Books for Young Readers for a companion series to his other series, The Land of Stories. There will be three books, one of them will be an ultimate insider’s guide as well as two books that are companion novels that would still feature the characters from The Land of Stories as well as be introducing new ones. The ultimate insider’s guide will be released in next Fall with the two books to be released sometimes in 2019. The news came after announcing that the first book in The Land of Stories series, The Wishing Spell is set to be adapted into a movie with Twentieth Century Fox and Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps. He is going to adapt the book to movie as well as making his directorial debut. (Source).

TV News
Ruth Ware’s The Lying Game a TV Series!
Entertainment One and The Gotham Group is set to develop a TV drama series based on Ruth Ware’s The Lying Game. This is her 3rd book that is set to be on a screen. Her other books, In a Dark, Dark Wood and The Woman in Cabin 10 is heading to the big screen. (Source).
Attica Locke’s Bluebird, Bluebird Has Been Picked up by FX
FX, after the bidding battles, has bought a pitch for Highway 59, an adaptation based on the novel, Bluebird, Bluebird by Attica Locke. It will be a drama series. Locke will write the series adaptation. Locke will also executive produces along with 3 Arts Entertainment’s Richard Abate, Jermaine Johnson, and Will Rowbotham. The novel itself is the first of a trilogy. (Source).

I am sure you guys will know this by now but in a shocking move, Amazon has announced that they will be doing a TV series of… Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Apparently, it looks like it will be a multi-season commitment, and it will be set The Fellowship of the Ring. The deal also included possible spin-off sequels. (Source).

Fantastic Beasts’ First Look at the cast of the 2nd movie.
The link that I have provided on the right has a cast photo, yes, I’m sorry to say, with Johnny Depp. I am excited about the movie but not for Depp. Anyway, along with the photo, it has announced the title of the second movie, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. (Source).
Zendaya & Reese Witherspoon
Zendaya will take the main role as Anita Hemmings in A White Lie, an adaptation based on the novel, The Gilded Years by Karin Tanabe. Reese Witherspoon will produce along with Zendaya and Lauren Neustadter, who is part of Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine company. (Source).
Elizabeth Banks Direct!
Elizabeth Banks is set to direct The Paper Bag Princess, written by Robert Munsch and illustrated by Michael Martchenko. It is a 1980s children’s book. It is a live-action adaptation, written by Katie Silberman. (Source).
Final Girls by Riley Sager Film Rights!
Universal Pictures has won the bidding battles for the rights to the novel, Final Girls by Riley Sager. (Source).
The Goldfinch‘s New Cast Member!
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt is being adapted into a movie by Warner Bros. Ansel Elgort and Aneurin Barnard are involved. Now, there is a new cast member joining and it is Sarah Paulson! She is set to play as Xandra, the girlfriend of Theo’s father. She was in American Horror Story: Cult and Rebel in the Rye. (Source).
A lot of great and interesting bookish news this month! I am most excited about Angie Thomas’ new book!
I also love the cover for Leah on the Offbeat! It is fantastic! I am not too sure about the Catwoman cover. I will have to see it in person!

I cannot wait for her new book as well! A lot of good movies coming out in 2018 and I’m excited. I actually like Catwoman cover but I am nervous about Sarah’s writing.

Very excited about all these upcoming books and movies. Also, did you know Becky Albertalli’s ‘Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda’ is also being adapted into a movie? The trailer came out yesterday and it looks amazing.
