Waiting on Wednesday | #46

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

The Defiant by Lesley Livingston

The Defiant
It is set to be released on February 13, 2018, by Razorbill.
(The Valient Goodreads). (The Defiant Goodreads).

I know this is the sequel to The Valient but the synopsis for The Valient sounds great. I have linked to the Goodreads page in case you didn’t want to read The Defiant synopsis because of the spoilers. I cannot wait to get both books and marathon read it. I have a good feeling that I am going to love this series. However, I am not sure how many books in this series, is it a duology, is it a trilogy, is it a quartet? I don’t know at this point.

I love how this cover fits well with the first book but still set it apart because now, you have two girls fighting. I love how the purple is the neutral color, in this case, making everything else stand out pretty well.

I am hopeful that CW is ordering The Valient to series because I would love to see this show. (Bookish News | September 2017).

The darling of the Roman Empire is in for the fight of her life.

Be brave, gladiatrix… And be wary. Once you win Caesar’s love, you’ll earn his enemies’ hate.

Fallon was warned.

Now she is about to pay the price for winning the love of the Roman people as Caesar’s victorious gladiatrix.

In this highly anticipated sequel to THE VALIANT, Fallon and her warrior sisters find themselves thrust into a vicious conflict with a rival gladiator academy, one that will threaten not only Fallon’s heart – and her love for Roman soldier Cai – but the very heart of the ancient Roman Empire.

When dark treachery and vicious power struggles threaten her hard-won freedom, the only thing that might help the girl known as Victrix save herself and her sisters is a tribe of long-forgotten mythic Amazon warriors.

The only trouble is, they might just kill her themselves first.
