Top Ten Tuesday | Mother’s Day Related Freebie

For anyone unfamiliar with Top 10 Tuesday, it’s a weekly meme that was created by The Broke and The Bookish. To see more posts on this very topic, please go here.

May 16: Mother’s Day related Freebie
favorite moms in literature, books about motherhood, best mother/daughter or son relationships, books to buy your mom, worst moms in literature, etc. etc.

I am trying to remember books that I love that has both best and worst (I can’t recall one – please make suggestions) mothers. I can only recall quite a few. If I happen to remember something, I hope I will remember in time for me to update this post. I truly need to read more so I can have a longer list. Here’s goes…

Best

Molly Weasley from Harry Potter Books //
She’s the best. She gives best warm hugs, always wanted to have her kids happy. Giving Harry a mother figure that he truly needed. Yes, she does few things that make me cringe like being overbearing, being very negative about Sirius, being very protective, and not supporting the twins’ dreams.

Lily Potter from Harry Potter Books //
We don’t truly get to know Lily but what we do know, she gave her life for Harry and that says a lot of what kind a mother she is. She loved him fiercely and wanted him to grow up to be the best he can be.

Julia’s moms from You’re Welcome, Universe by Whitney Gardner //
Often, you don’t see parents in books most of the time, especially in YA books. I love to see them being so present in Julia’s life, and being there for her when Julia messes up. They just support her and being a mom.

Emily Spier from Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli //
I love Emily. She’s a mom that I love to read. Always supportive but being funny to the point where it is so easy to embarrass Simon. I wish I see her more in the book but maybe that’d change in the movie when it gets released in March 2018.
