February 7: Top Ten Books I Wish Had (More/Less) X In Them
(The original idea came from Andi who suggested top ten books I wish had more kissing which I thought could be fun but also realize it might not be everyone’s thing! Could also be top ten books I wish had more diversity in them or top ten books I wish had less violence in them or less romance focus in them or top ten books I wish had more dragons in them. IDK! Have some fun with this one!)
This is one topic that I am interested in. I have been thinking long and hard on see what books need more of. I chose Top Books I Wish Had More Diversity in Them. I am going for the obvious.
Obviously, there are many similar issues among these books. They lack diversity and I wish they have them. It would be more of a kick ass book if they do! I am not going to speak about these books individually because it is kinda obvious why they are up here. There are books that I have not read on this list and I have been hearing things of why they lack diversity.
I havent finished reading Cinder nor have I read Throne of Glass yet but I love for some more diversity in YA too. Here’s my post on TTT

Yeah, I agree. I read your post and I have to agree on all of them.

I agree with SJM’s books. It seems that the only obvious POC in TOG was Nehemia, and she was killed off right away.

And I heard about Choal? I’m not sure if I spelt his name right.

Have you read N.K Jemisin and Nnedi Okorofor? Theirs are among the best books with POC protagonists. Also Kameron Hurley.
