January 10: Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To (But TOTALLY plan to).
So many books that I wanted to read last year but I didn’t get to them because of my stupid reading slumps. This is easily one of the lists that I can come up with more than ten books. Here’s goes!
Crooked Kingdom // Leigh Bardugo
Six of Crows was one of my favorite books of 2016 and I am sad that I did not bring myself to read Crooked Kingdom. I am hopeful that this month, I finally get to read it.
Salt to the Sea // Ruta Sepetys
I love to learn history. Not all of them are sunshine and roses (I hope I said that correctly. I suck at these kinds of metaphors). If I love her writing, I am planning to pick up the rest of her books.
Iron Cast // Destiny Soria
I am currently reading this for the DAReadaThon and I am loving it. I moved to Boston for grad school and I love it there. I am so excited to read a diverse book that is set in Boston! YES!
More Happy Than Not // Adam Silvera
I am also reading this book and so far, Adam Silvera is becoming one of my favorite authors. I cannot wait for History is All You Left Me next week.
Furthermore // Tahereh Mafi
When I first heard about this book, I was all in. The colorful cover. Count. Me. In.
The Sun is Also A Star // Nicola Yoon
I loved Everything, Everything. I did not know that she was coming out with a book for 2016 until the second half of the year. I saw the cover, fell in love. I read the synopsis, fell in love harder. Heard raves reviews on this book, I am all in. I bought it with a gift card that my brother gave me for Christmas. Can’t wait to read this book this month!
The Female of the Species // Mandy McGinnis
I was nervous about this book because it is a serious book on serious topics and I don’t know if I could handle it. I saw this book being on one of the best books of the year for people with opinions that I trust. I want to give this book a chance.
Mirror in the Sky // Aditi Khorana
To be honest, I brought this book on my kindle just because of the cover. I did not read the synopsis at all. I recently did and yup, yup. This book will be read this year.
If I Was Your Girl // Meredith Russo
I am so excited to read this for DAReadaThon this month. I have heard nothing but raves. I love the cover. I cannot wait.
This Savage Song // Victoria Schwab
I heard mixed reviews on this book. Some people loves it. Some people don’t love it. Some people is 50/50 on it. One thing they all have in common is that they love how creative Victoria is. I can’t wait to see the world that she created.
Mirror In The Sky is on my TBR too! I’ve read Furthermore and The Sun is Also a Star and I enjoyed them both!

Awesome list, I’ve got a few of these on mine as well. I read Jane Steele in December and really enjoyed it, it’s different than what I expected. I’m looking forward to your review!

The Sun is Also a Star was my favorite book I read last year. I read it in one sitting it so well written and the characters were nuanced and developed in a rare way that makes them so real.
