December 13: Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To For The First Half Of 2017
It was not easy to narrow this list to ten books that span six months of MANY, MANY, and MANY books being released. There are so many books that I am anticipating to buy and/or borrow and read! So many books are being released in January alone and I am going to try my best to spread these out till July…
1. Wayfarer by Alexandra Bracken
Release Date: January 3rd
Passenger is a good book but it isn’t my favorite because I have issues with the book. I am hopeful that Alex heard the criticism and made this an awesome ending to the duology.
2. Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall
Release Date: January 3rd
I recently heard about this book. I forget where. When I heard the MC deals with agoraphobia and OCD. It made me want to see how Louise deal with this with romance and/or friendship.
3. A List of Cages by Robin Roe
Release Date: January 10th
After listening to Emma from Emmmabooks on YouTube, this book was added to my TBR list. It deals with wide range of topics such as friendship, family, ADHD, foster care, child abuse, and trauma.
4. History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera
Release Date: January 17th
I have not read of his book, More Happy Than Not (but don’t fear, I am planning on reading that for #DAreadathon next month!). People whose got an ARC of this book raves about this book. I am ready, already have a box of tissues next to me.
5. Caraval by Stephanie Garber
Release Date: January 31st
This is one of the debuts that I am looking forward to reading in 2017. I have heard it is similar to The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (I haven’t read that book) but with people raving about The Night Circus and Caraval. Sign me up.
6. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
Release Date: February 28th
This is another debut book for 2017. When I first heard about this book and how it was inspired by Black Lives Matter Movement. I immediately add this to my Goodreads TBR.
7. You’re Welcome, Universe by Whitney Gardner
Release Date: March 7th
Yes, another debut book for 2017. I am so excited for this book. I finally get to read a Deaf MC and I heard this book also have artworks as well, I believe drawn by the author as well! YES!
8. The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli
Release Date: April 11th
Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda is one of my favorite books of 2016 and I am so looking forward to this book. EXCITED!
9. Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh
Release Date: May 2nd
A retelling of Mulan? Sign. Me. Up.
10. Cold Summer by Gwen Cole
Release Date: May 2nd
When I heard about this book and then I read the synopsis. I just fell in love. A guy who had time traveling ability and are struggling with PTSD after fighting in World War II. It is going to be very interesting to see how Gwen writes this book.
I love this list. I have a some of them on my TBR list, I have Caraval, History Is All You Left Me and A List of Cages. I read Adam Silvera’s debut novel More Happy Than Not. It is such a heartbreaking story, I highly recommend it 🙂

I’ve only just finished reading “Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda” and enjoyed it a lot, even though I usually don’t read contemporaries. So I’m definitely looking forward to Becky Albertalli’s next book!

Same here! I used to love contemporaries but when fantasy came by, I dropped them. Becky made me to fall in love with contemporaries again! 🙂
