November 22: Thanksgiving freebie — tell us what you are thankful for! Books you are thankful for!
There are so many books that I am thankful for. I have always loved to read ever since I was little, and it was a way for me to escape since I am kind of a person that doesn’t like to go out and be social. I like to stay home, being anti-social since people always gives me anxiety. I felt like people doesn’t know how truly I feel so books were that escape for me, escape from real life.
1. Hearts and Dreams series by Cameron Dokey
I have mentioned that this series is my favorite series of all the time and I am in love with these strong characters who are very sassy and know what they felt and know their opinions. Even though these ladies get married but they married the men who supported them in everything.
2. A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks
This was my first Nicholas Sparks book that I ever read and it brought me feelings that I did not know that I have. It was my first “mature” novel that I have read. It was a time where I was seeking older books that were not for the middle grade or children’s books anymore. I was ready for something that would match my age and my mindset at the time. My favorite thing about this book is how Nicholas opened the book.
3. Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer
As I have mentioned so many times, these series were the gateway for me to be able to get into YA and Fantasy as a whole. At the time, I did not think of any flaws in the books but as the time went on and the moves even went on more, I started to see the flaws but the same time, it held a special spot in my heart.
4. Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
Even though I have begun reading this series this year and it already held a special spot in my heart. I have seen the movies but the words that J.K. wrote and I see things that were not in the movies. I honestly can say I prefer these books over the movies, and the movies were already great.
5. The Violets of March by Sarah Jio
I have always loved history but other than the Hearts and Dreams series, I have not read anything historical fiction till I read the very book that Sarah wrote. I love how Sarah was able to weave past and present effortless. She was able to easily made me understand whose point of views that was in the book. She also made me fell in love with the characters and the locations that they were in. She is the main reason of why I wanted to move to Seattle.
6. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
I fell in love with this book. The crew is what made me love the book. They are flawed, and they are a mess. I fell in love with Wylan because of his innocence, and I fell in love with Nina because she rocks. I fell in love with Inej because she proved that even though you were in a bad place, and it doesn’t mean you are weak, just stronger. I fell in love with Jesper and Matthias because they see something in other people that they don’t see. I fell in love with Kaz because he shows that even though he walks with a cane, doesn’t mean he is weak and that he can do whatever he wants.
7. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
I love this book for two reasons. One – they are fun to read because of the graphics in this book. It shows that it doesn’t have to be words to be a book and enjoyable. Two – the women in this book and Gemina is strong and not weak. They can stand up for themselves and not let others does it for them.
I am going to do something different for the rest of the list.
8. Retellings
I love how there are different ways to image on “What If” like My Lady Jane, or even figure out how or way a person can be such evil like Heartless. It is fun to see a classic book being turned into half human and half cyborg and still kick ass like Cinder. It’s fun to read these creative books.
9. Fan Art
I love to see people draw these characters and see how they would interpret the author’s words into lines and colors. It is awe-inspiring. I love to see Harry Potter and Six of Crows the most. Beautiful.
10. People
Yes, People. With this past year, and especially this past month, it not only made me feel blessed with the family and friends that I have but made me feel blessed with people who aims to change the world for the better.
I have that book A Walk to Remember but haven’t read it yet. What’s your rating on it? Great post!

It’s 4 out of 5. It isn’t the best. The movie is even better, in my opinion but read the book anyway. Thank you! 🙂
