Top 10 Tuesday: Top Ten ALL TIME Favorite Books Of X Genre

For anyone unfamiliar with Top 10 Tuesday, it’s a weekly meme that was created by Brokeandbookish. To see more posts on this very topic, please go here

September 13: Top Ten ALL TIME Favorite Books Of X Genre (I know, I know. Picking all time faves. I’m MEAN. But I like knowing people’s definitive faves). Can also break it down into sub-genre if that helps?

I hope I can do this topic justice. Thanks to the reading slump, I might not be able to do all 10, maybe 8 at most, so I will do just my favorite books on my favorite genre by far. Maybe one day soon, I will be able to fill out enough books, various books, that I can easily break down into sub-genres.

The genre that I have decided to do is Fantasy.

1. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Man, when I read this, I fell HARD. This book. I already did a review and it will be posted later this month so you should read it to see why I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK. I only can hope my heart stay intact when Crooked Kingdom comes out.

2. Legend by Marie Lu

It has been a while since I last read this and I still need to read Champion, so I need to reread the series again so I can have it fresh when I finally read Champion. Maybe that would be one of my goals for next year. However, I  do remember loving Day. He is one of my baes. When I do reread the series, I will post a review because I remember wanting more.

3. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

I do not know where they get the idea of doing this type of book but it.is.genius. Ezra and Kady. Love how they connect, just wish there are few things that are different from what has happened. Can’t wait for Gemina

4. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling

I just finished reading this book and I want to live there. The movies helped me to image what the world looks like but yeah, can’t wait to read the illustrated version. I can’t wait to see what the world looks like through one person’s mind. It is fun.

5. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

I love the idea of Etta and Nicholas. I love the way the worlds are worlds apart between them but they still connect on common values and common senses. I have not finished this book but I am taking my sweet time. I love how the world was built, how the characters are so different but connect with each other really well. Kinda sucky this is one book in a duology.

6. Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

I have not finished this book BUT I am loving it. I already can’t wait for Book #2 and Book #3. I will post a review about this book once I am done. It should be up before the year’s over. Can’t wait to tell you more about it.

7. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

This series is like WOW. Yes, there is flaws in this series but the characters is what pulled me into these books and is what kept me from reading and finishing up all three books. Katniss is a young lady that has a chip on her shoulder and there are times when she wants to give up, but she did not because she knows she has a sister that depends on her but most of all, wants her around just because she loves her.

8. The Moon Dwellers by David Estes

I found an article that basically said, “if you love The Hunger Games, read these books.” I look through the list that was provided and I saw The Moon Dwellers and thought the synopsis were hitting the spots so I looked the author up and saw that it was free on Amazon for Kindle, so I grabbed it and read it. I fell in love with the book. It is so different from other books that I have read. I will be doing a review on this so I will talk more.

Illuminae is actually a fast read, so you should read it in a day if you are not too busy. It give you mini heart attacks, that’s for sure. I love how it is different from other books and I am very curious on how the movie will end up looking like.
