Top 5 Wednesday: Books You Will Never Read

For anyone unfamiliar with Top 5 Wednesday, it’s a weekly meme that was created by Lainey from gingerreadslainey and is now moderated by Sam from Thoughts On Tomes. The group communicates through Goodreads.

August 31st: Books You Will Never Read
Whether it’s from a series that you have outgrown or don’t wish to continue, or they are popular books that just don’t interest you, let us know what you don’t plan on reading.

To choose books that have outgrown, did not wish to continue, or did not interest me is not easy. I thought of this long and hard and I believe I came up with 5 books. I know I will get flames for some of the books below. I don’t mean to offend you guys if I have listed your favorite books. 

1. Shade of Gray Trilogy by E.L. James

I won’t be surprised to see these books on many lists all over the world. I can see its appeal. I have read part of the first book, Fifty Shades of Grey. Something about how it was written did not go over well with me. I might pick this up again, might not. Never know when the mood will strike. 

2. Games of Thrones Series by George R.R. Martin

I couldn’t jump into this series or even the TV show. People has been raving all about it and I did not just have an interest in reading or watching them. Plus, the books themselves are huge and I don’t know if I will ever going to finish reading them and have time for other books. I like to finish everything, even the ones that I do not like. I want to know what happens, rather give them up. 

3. The Lord of the Rings Series by J.R.R. Tolkien

The very same reason as Games of Thrones. Just did not have an interest. 

4. Any Books by James Frey

I have heard stories on him and it made me not interested in reading his books. 

5. Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard

I have watched the TV show but it never really holds my attention. I am all for having a long series, in this case, 16 books! But based off the show, it wasn’t my thing. I don’t think it is worth my time and money to read these books.
