Top 10 Tuesday: Ten Books That Have Been On Your Shelf

For anyone unfamiliar with Top 10 Tuesday, it’s a weekly meme that was created by Brokeandbookish. To see more posts on this very topic, please go here

August 23: Ten books that have been on your shelf (Or TBR) from before you started blogging that you STILL haven’t read yet.

So! There is so many to choose from. How can I choose?! I have brought so many books and I have barely start reading again. Since I just joined the blogging world… oh boy! Do I have quite of a list for you?! The list has a good mixture of genres. READ on! 🙂

1. Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin

wolfbywolf

This book is all “what ifs?” What if Hitler has won WWII, what happened then? When I first heard these words, I was like, yes. I do not have to read anymore on what it is about. I am jumping into this book blind. I heard this book and its sequel, Blood for Blood will make my heart cry. I need to get a box of tissues or two.

2. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

ACOTAR

I heard this book is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast and some kind of magic going on, I am not 100% sure. I do know, though, is that there are mixed reviews on this book. People either LOVES it or HATES it, nothing in between. In fact, A Court of Mist and Fury is much better, people loves it and it causes people to be in a reading slump, which honestly is making me turn off on this series because I just came back from a high reading slump. We will see if I am actually going to read this series anytime soon. Am I curious to see the title for book number 3?

3. The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

TheUnexpectedEverything

I love love, LOVE, in fact, I am in love with her other book Since You’ve Been Gone (by the way, I already did a review on the book – check it out!) and people are raving about this book. It is making me excited! Dogs, ice cream, romantic, family, summer. YES! Bring it on. It’ll be on my September TBR… wink wink.

4. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

the lunar chronicles

I know, I know. I’m cheating with this series but come on. I have heard nothing but awesome things about this series. I need to jump into this series like SOON! I was actually thinking to start reading Cinder in October, I don’t know why. Maybe it is the environment? At least I’m reading this soon! I have every single book but Stars Above

5. The Wrath & the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh

TheWrath

I love this cover, and I love its sequel cover as well. It’s a retelling of A Thousand and One Nights. I have not read the actual story but I do know the basics. I need to read this and I want to so bad. I am not sure of the best timing to read this book, maybe in November? Let me know what you guys think.

6. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

ADSOM

People have been raving about this book and this series, and the idea of Black, Red, Gray, and I believe White Londons has me intrigued. On twitter, people kept commenting on the characters and it made me want to read this so I know what is going on.

7. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Simon vs.

This book. I heard it is different because of the relationships with Simon and his dad, Simon and his online friend, and Simon and his high school. I want to see what’s up. Will it be heart jerking? Will it make me go LOLLOLOLOLOLOLOL? Or will it make me go “WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!”

8. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

anember

People loved this book and they want more, so they got them. They’ll get book #2, A Torch Against the Night. It’ll be out on Aug. 30th. They’ll get a movie as well… I do not know the release date but they will get a movie! Just now, Sabaa has said there will be book #3 and book #4. I believe book #3 will be released in 2018 – I may be wrong. I need to start reading this a.s.a.p.

9. November 9 by Colleen Hoover

November9

People fell in love with this book and now they’re in love with her newest book, It Ends With Us. I need to know why and I will read this book in November, just because of the title.

10. Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys

SalttotheSeaIt is a book about War World II and four people. There were mixed reviews on this book and I really don’t know much about this book. No one is talking about it. I am going into this book blind and hopefully, it will be a great read.

I need to read that book BEFORE fall or I’ll have to wait till next summer. I hope you are able to get the book at Half Price Books. I never been there and I want to so badly. I heard so many awesome things about these stores!

Oooh, you MUST read the Lunar Chronicles series. It’s unique, exciting, and fun. SALT TO THE SEA is a very vivid, memorable one. It’s not fun, but it is very compelling. I didn’t like WOLF BY WOLF nearly as much as I liked Gaudin’s debut. It was okay, IMHO.

    Happy TTT!

I’m definitely going to read CINDER for my October TBR. For some reason, I want to read SALT TO THE SEA in November because the feel from the cover, I may be wrong? I haven’t read of any Ryan’s books and I only brought WOLF BY WOLF by far, but I have heard THE WALLED CITY is by far, her best work. I will pick it up maybe at the start of the year when I get gift cards 🙂
